Why did Ned Yost send Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas to minor league camp?

Why did Ned Yost send Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas to minor league camp? Because there are only 15 more games in spring training so the players that will start on opening day will play a lot more then thy have been so Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas will not get to play as much so Ned Yost sent them to minor league camp so they will play more. Then the question is why were thy in major league camp in the at all? Because the minor league camp dos not start games until today.
